The Ripplescape series of line drawings celebrates the creative power of encounters.

Ripplescapes are moiré patterns created when two layers of lines meet, like interfering waves or the ripples in the sand left by the tide on a beach. 

No two Ripplescapes are the same. Even the smallest change in the interplay of lines can create a completely new pattern.

Inspired by images, sounds, memories or conversations, each Ripplescape captures a moment in the turmoil of experiences and stories we share.

Ripplescape is a project of Maarten van den Berg, a graphic artist based in The Hague, The Netherlands.
